What are we?
Travelmutants is managed by Akshata and Athreya . We call ourselves #Athaksh. If you have followed us on Instagram, you will know that I (Akshata) am Athreya’s muse 😛 . He takes the pictures when I am in it. But usually most pictures are directed and processed by me. Athreya is a great gopro and drone videographer. Although video editing started out to be his passion project, since past year all videos/reels/posts have been edited by me since he is been busy with house stuff (home owner issues I guess).
Who are we?
We are both 9 to 5 software engineers working for a multi billionaire company in Austin Texas. Our academical background paved our way into the United States in mid 2014. I completed my Masters in Computer Science from University of Southern California (Go Trojans! ) and Athreya got his Masters in Computer Networks from University of Texas at Dallas. While we had been travelling even before , our explorations took wild turns after we got married in 2017!
Whats our story?
For Athreya’s birthday in 2017, I gifted him a Gopro which got him into taking videos of our travels and later creating vlogs to summarize the trip. After making couple of vlogs , on our friend’s suggestions, we decided to create a travel profile on Instagram dedicated to providing travel inspiration, location information and tips.
We are not professionals in this field. This is more of a hobby and our passion than anything else. Being a content provider is not an easy hobby to have. Handling work, traveling, planning budget friendly trips, maintaining household chores everything consumes a lot of time and needs patience. We try to have something up whenever possible but we have not been regular.
What is this page about?
As we do travel quite frequently and plan our trips smartly and economically many of our followers/friends have asked us to share our itinerary with them. That has lead to me creating this blog to share some more information about our trips and give you some tips/hacks on how to travel without breaking the bank. Hope our blogs help you in planning your travels efficiently!
